REVIEW: The Condition 1 18″ 5 Pistol Case – A Must-Have for Gun Enthusiasts

A gun case.

Like everyone these days I’m always on the lookout for gear that blends practicality, toughness, and affordability. Meet the Condition 1 18″ 5 Pistol Case, Model 801 – a standout for gun storage and travel. This heavy-duty, waterproof hard case protects your firearms, and honestly, it exceeded my expectations.

First, consider capacity. This case holds five pistols and 20 magazines with pre-cut foam for a snug fit. Whether you’re off to the range or traveling, it’s incredibly convenient. The quality of the foam is great, much better than Pick N Pluck foam other brands offer, and provides a great fit for handguns of all sizes.

Next, durability shines. Made in Texas, this TSA-friendly case boasts an IP67 waterproof rating. I tested it in wet conditions, and everything stayed dry, which I expected. Additionally, it features push-button latches and padlock holes for added security.

What about travel? The 18.36″x13.70″x7.03″ size is compact yet roomy, ideal for flights. Since it’s TSA-approved, checking firearms is stress-free. Meanwhile, the steel hinge pin ensures rugged reliability.

For range days, organization matters. The pre-cut foam keeps everything secure, so you’re not digging around. However, if you have pistols with optics and lights, you might need minor adjustments. The tightest fit for me was a 9mm FN 509 Tactical with a red dot and light, the lid closed and sealed with a slight bulge in the lid. I took the light off and it was all good.

Price-wise, it’s a bargain at $139.99 for the quality. Compared to brands like Pelican, Condition 1 delivers premium features affordably.

Final Thoughts:

The Condition 1 18″ 5 Pistol Case excels in protection, portability, and value. If you’re passionate about protecting your firearms, this case belongs in your lineup. Trust me, it’s worth it.
