Springfield Armory is thrilled to introduce the latest in concealed carry innovation with the launch of the 1911 DS Prodigy Compact 9mm.

Available in both 3.5” and 4.25” barrel lengths, this new model revolutionizes the 1911 platform by incorporating a double-stack magazine, delivering an impressive 15-round capacity without sacrificing the slim profile essential for everyday carry.

Designed to meet the needs of self-defense enthusiasts, the Prodigy Compact features a flush-fitting magazine that ensures a comfortable grip, perfect for those looking for a reliable CCW solution. Each variant comes with two magazines, enhancing your shooting experience right out of the box.

Enhanced Visibility and Customization:

  • Low-light Readiness: Equipped with a tritium front sight post and a serrated black U-notch rear sight, these pistols ensure you’re ready even in dim lighting.
  • Optic Ready: The pistols include Springfield’s proprietary Agency Optic System (AOS) plates, offering seamless integration with popular optics like the HEX Dragonfly. Additional plates are available for further customization.

Built for Performance:

  • Crafted with a focus on lightweight yet durable materials, the frame is made from billet-machined 7075-T6 aluminum, with polymer grip modules. The slide is forged carbon steel, and the barrel, a match-grade bull from forged stainless steel, all coated with corrosion-resistant finishes like black Cerakote and DLC for the barrel.

Ergonomics and Safety:

  • The Prodigy Compact doesn’t just perform; it feels right with recontoured hammers, beavertail grip safeties, and an ambidextrous safety, making it suitable for all users.

Steve Kramer, VP of Marketing at Springfield Armory, commented, “The compact variants of our 1911 DS Prodigy are designed with the EDC enthusiast in mind, offering unmatched capacity and carry comfort. This is the next step in 1911 evolution.”

Pricing and Availability:

  • Both models are priced at an MSRP of $1,549 and are available under the following product codes:1911 DS Prodigy 3.5” Compact AOS – PH9115AOS, UPC: 706397969080
  • 1911 DS Prodigy 4.25” Compact AOS – PH9116AOS, UPC: 706397969073

Discover the ultimate in concealed carry with the Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy Compact, where tradition meets innovation.
