Record payouts, exceptional fishing expected for first TXTT event of 2021

The Texas Team Trail (TXTT) presented by Bass Pro Shops & Cabela’s will host its first regular-season event on Saturday, February 20, at Sam Rayburn Reservoir. Known by tournament fishermen as “Big Sam,” the sprawling Angelina River impoundment has previously hosted TXTT events, typically with impressive results.

Registration for the event is already underway – anglers can secure an opportunity to pre-fish Friday, February 19, by completing their registration online or via phone prior to 5 p.m. on Thursday, February 18. Additionally, all anglers that pre-register online at www.texasteamtrail.com will be entered into a drawing for a $100 Cabela’s gift card.

The Sam Rayburn event is the first regular-season event of four 2021 qualifying events that guarantee a fully rigged, 18-foot boat, motor, trailer package as first-place prize. The winning anglers at Sam Rayburn will walk away with a brand-new Nitro Z18 powered by a 150HP Mercury, valued at $33,595.

In addition to the payout, the event offers anglers an unprecedented opportunity in terms of sponsor bonuses and television coverage. The budget-friendly $250 entry fee, plus multiple contingency programs and a guaranteed, over-100 percent payback at every event provides tremendous value to the weekend angler.

On-site registration is set for Friday, February 19, from 3-6 p.m. at Umphrey Pavilion (5438 Sam Rayburn Parkway, Brookeland, TX 75931). At least one team member must attend, as boat numbers will be assigned during this time. Anglers will be required to wear face coverings at registration. The tournament will launch Saturday, February 20, at safe light from Umphrey Pavilion with anglers returning to the pavilion for the weigh-in at 3 p.m.

Anglers with questions or anyone interested in more details on the event are encouraged to visit www.texasteamtrail.com or call 210-281-1752 or 210-788-4143.

The Texas Team Trail presented by Bass Pro Shops & Cabela’s consists of three regular-season events and a year-end championship. The championship is a two-day tournament open to teams who have fished all four regular-season events.

2021 TXTT scheduled events:

  • February 20 – Sam Rayburn
  • March 27 – Amistad Reservoir
  • May 8 – Sam Rayburn

Championship

  • June 5-6 – Lake Whitney
