Cannon Downriggers: Built to Perform

Tough, dependable and easy to use, every Cannon® is built beyond the highest industry standards

Offshore anglers are a meticulous bunch. They have to be. When a pelagic fish is marked on sonar—typically with abyssal depths below the boat—it’s critical to get your bait into the strike zone quickly, efficiently, and precisely. There is zero margin for downrigger disappointment.

This is why the most scrupulous tournament anglers, charter captains and diehard lure pullers rely on Cannon® products. Every piece Cannon constructs is built well beyond the highest standards in the industry. And the proof is in one of the most demanding sections in sport fishing – saltwater.

Nothing’s harder on equipment than multiple coatings of saline spray and long runs over breakers that can jolt years worth of use in just a few hours. But Cannon’s entire line of Tournament Series downriggers are constructed to take the punishment. From the Uni-Troll™ 10 STX-TS manual downrigger through the Magnum 10 STX-TS, Digi-Troll 5 TS and Digi-Troll 10 TS, each ‘rigger in the series can handle the worst fishing and boating conditions imaginable.

“I can honestly say I could never go back to fishing with any other brand of downrigger except Cannon… Ever,” says Captain Mark Henderson of Liquid Fire Fishing Team. “They are truly the toughest, most dependable downrigger on the market. They do so much more than just lower and raise a lead cannon ball; it’s all the small features that make a big difference.”

Manual Success

Starting with the most advanced manual downrigger on the market, the Uni-Troll 10 STX-TS’s One-Hand Clutch Deploy system allows the weight to be lowered by simply backing off on the clutch, which deploys the ball slowly and smoothly to the desired depth. And when it’s time to bring the weight back up, a 2:1 spool to handle retrieval speed raises it quickly and with minimal effort.

The unit comes pre-spooled with 200 feet of 150-pound-test stainless steel cable, and includes a three-digit depth counter and line release. The spool is crafted from high-quality stainless steel, which also allows for use with monofilament line. Also stainless, the heavy-duty telescopic boom extends from 24″ to 53″ to create the seamless lure spread, and it’s tipped with an enclosed boom end pulley to prevent annoying line jumping.

Uni-Troll™ 10 STX-TS

Cannon’s dual-axis rod holder creates perfect rod placement, and an integrated ball storage hook keeps the weight secure, even when running in high seas. And the Easy-Access Universal Mounting Base is interchangeable with electric models. MSRP $449.99.

Proven Electric Options

One of the most proven-reliable electric downriggers on the market, the Magnum 10 STX-TS comes with the same stainless spool and boom configuration as the Uni-Troll 10 STX-TS manual, but also boast the fastest retrieval rate is in the industry at 250-feet-per-minute with up to a 20-pound ball.

Short Stop automatically retrieves the weight and stops it at the waterline, so you don’t have to worry about damaging the boat via a swinging weight. And Positive Ion Control emits positive ions from the cable to combat the negative ions from your vessel, creating a fish-attracting field of energy.

The Magnum 10 STX-TS comes with 250 feet of 150-lb test stainless steel cable, 3-digit line counter and line release, low-profile swivel base and dual-axis adjustable rod holder.

Digi-Troll 10 TS

Filled with even more features, both the Digi-Troll 5 TS and Digi-Troll 10 TS electric downriggers’ Revolutionary Control Features allow the cycling of the weight up and down at preset intervals and depths, and Bottom Track automatically keeps a bait at a preset distance from the bottom. You can even store up to five different preset depths for easy reference.

All this information can be seen with ease on the illuminated Integrated Control Screen keypad controls, with large backlit LCD screen. IntelliTroll speed and temp ratings can be displayed, and you can raise and lower the weight, adjust Positive Ion Control, or program the amount of line out. And WaterLine Zero lets you keep your weight at a set depth below the surface.

Two line releases and 400 feet of 150-pound-test stainless steel cable are standard, and you’ll know exactly what depth you’re fishing with a digital depth counter. Both include a dual axis, fully-adjustable rod holder and low-profile swivel base.

Helping anglers of all skill master depth control while trolling is what Cannon downriggers are all about. Always has been; always will be. But there’s more to these workhorses than just lowering and raising a heavy lead ball through the water column. Lots more. And it’s tricking out these winches that’s made Cannon the industry leader.
