A hunter aiming with a crossbow.

Barnett, a long-standing name in the crossbow industry with over 60 years of experience, has introduced the Hyper Raptor, a crossbow designed for both performance and ease of use. Known for its attention to precision, safety, and dependability, Barnett has earned the trust of hunters over the years.

The Hyper Raptor, part of Barnett’s Hyper series, is built for maneuverability with its lightweight composite riser and compact design, measuring just over seven inches axle-to-axle when cocked. This makes it suitable for hunting in confined spaces. Its pivoting limb pockets reduce front-end weight and contribute to a durable shooting platform with minimized recoil and vibration. The Hyper Raptor is capable of shooting Barnett’s HyperFlite arrows at speeds of up to 410 feet per second, delivering 142 ft. lbs. of kinetic energy for significant penetration.

A Hyper Raptor package includes Barnett’s patent-pending HyperFlite arrows, which feature a .204-inch diameter and 21% increased FOC (front of center), resulting in improved downrange accuracy and reduced wind drift. These arrows are designed for deeper penetration, offering more than 25% deeper penetration compared to standard arrows.

This crossbow also features Barnett’s Halo System, which eliminates cable crossing and cam lean, enhancing accuracy through balanced string travel. Additional accuracy and reliability come from the Soft Lok Floating Bristle Arrow Retainer System and CNC-machined aluminum flight track, ensuring consistent shots.

A key feature of the Hyper Raptor is the TriggerTechFrictionless Release Technology, offering a crisp, 3-pound trigger pull. The crossbow also includes an Anti-Dry Fire (ADF) system and nock sensor for safe operation, while the Rope Hold Roller Ball technology aids in consistent cocking. For those preferring a cranking system, Barnett offers a compatible Hyper Raptor CCD buttstock.

In terms of comfort, the Hyper Raptor is designed with ergonomics in mind, featuring an adjustable length-of-pull buttstock and a padded, micro-adjustable cheek rest for optimal scope-to-eye alignment. The pass-through forend with a Verti-Grip palm rest adds to user comfort, and pre-installed string suppressors reduce noise and vibration during shooting.

The Hyper Raptor package comes with several accessories, including a 4×36 illuminated, multi-reticle scope with flip-up caps, a side-mount quiver, three 20-inch HyperFlite arrows with field points, a sled-style rope cocking device, and lube wax. The crossbow is mostly assembled out of the box with a single bolt assembly.

With a price tag of $599, the Hyper Raptor offers a combination of speed, accuracy, and ease of use, making it a strong option for hunters seeking a reliable crossbow.
