Springfield Armory has recently introduced the Model 2020 Rimfire family, offering shooters a refined bolt-action rifle in .22 LR with all the quality and performance the brand is known for. The new lineup includes both wood-stocked and synthetic-stocked versions, giving shooters a choice between classic elegance and modern durability.

The Model 2020 Rimfire is available in two primary versions—the wood-stocked Classic Model and the synthetic-stocked Target Model. The Classic Model boasts four grades of Turkish walnut with a satin finish, allowing enthusiasts to select the level of figure and grain that suits their preferences. On the other hand, the Target Model features a reinforced polymer stock modeled after the popular Model 2020 Waypoint, offering a target-style configuration in black or sage with black webbing finishes.

Design features such as dual standard sling swivels and a rubber recoil pad that provides comfortable and intuitive shoulder positioning enhance the overall shooting experience. The action of the Model 2020 Rimfire outperforms others in its class, thanks to dual cocking cams and a hard chrome bolt that ensures smooth cycling and flawless operation. A 60-degree bolt throw adds speed and ease of use, while the interrupted picatinny rail offers a stable base for attaching optics. Moreover, a threaded bolt handle allows for customization by the shooter.

To complement its performance, the Model 2020 Rimfire comes with a .22-caliber rotary magazine crafted from durable polymer, capable of holding 10 rounds and delivering smooth feeding. Additionally, the rifle and magazine are compatible with Ruger® 10/22®-pattern magazines of the same capacity, providing versatility without compromise.

A 20-inch premium barrel, free-floated for its full length, ensures point of impact stability and accuracy. The Target Model is threaded to accept suppressors and muzzle devices, while the Classic Model features a sporter contour for outdoor use.

The Model 2020 Rimfire incorporates a Model 700-pattern adjustable trigger, set at 4.5 lbs at the factory. Shooters have the option to fine-tune the trigger to their preference, providing a crisp, clean break. The action of the rifle is also designed to accommodate aftermarket 700-pattern triggers, allowing for further customization.

Springfield Armory stands behind the performance and accuracy of all Model 2020 Rimfire rifles. Each configuration is guaranteed to shoot 1″ or less three-shot groups at 50 yards with quality match-grade factory ammunition when in the hands of a skilled shooter.

“The new bolt-action Model 2020 Rimfire line chambered in .22 LR provides just that, with a wide selection of models offering something for every shooter—from suppressor-ready Target Models to Classic Models with beautiful walnut stocks,” says Steve Kramer, Vice President of Marketing for Springfield Armory.

The Model 2020 Rimfire family represents the heirloom quality of a firearm that can be proudly passed down through generations. It includes various configurations, and enthusiasts can explore the different models through Springfield Armory’s website for more information.

The Model 2020 Rimfire series has already gained attention and admiration from shooting enthusiasts, and the limited edition rifles are expected to become prized possessions for those seeking exceptional craftsmanship and performance.
