Smith & Wesson proudly launched the Model 1854 chambered in .45-70 Government today.

This release elevates their lever-action lineup with a powerful rifle cartridge. Initially, the series debuted with pistol calibers like .44 Rem Mag, .45 Colt, and .357 Magnum. Now, the iconic .45-70 Government joins the family, blending tradition with cutting-edge design.

Crafted for enthusiasts, the Model 1854 merges classic American lever-gun aesthetics with modern upgrades. Whether you’re stalking big game or seeking a versatile lever-action rifle, this firearm delivers. Its heritage shines through, yet innovative features ensure top performance for today’s shooters.

The .45-70 Model 1854 boasts a 6+1 capacity and a robust forged 416 stainless steel receiver. Additionally, the 20-inch 410 stainless steel barrel features an 11/16-24 thread for suppressors. Meanwhile, the large loop lever ensures smooth cycling, perfect for rapid follow-up shots. A flat trigger enhances accuracy with consistent finger placement.

Out-of-the-box, this rifle impresses with practical features. For instance, a 5 ¾-inch Picatinny base simplifies optics mounting. Also, an adjustable XS Sights® ghost ring rear sight pairs with a gold bead front sight. The fixed magazine tube keeps things straightforward, while the stainless-steel variant offers three M-LOK slots. Moreover, both models include sling mounts for added convenience.

Available in two stunning finishes, the Model 1854 caters to diverse tastes. Choose between the synthetic black polymer with stainless steel or the Armornite® and walnut combo. Either way, you’re getting a rifle that’s as functional as it is beautiful.

Perfect for hunting or range time, this lever-action rifle stands out in the outdoor industry. Its .45-70 chambering brings raw power, ideal for taking down large game. Meanwhile, the blend of old-school charm and modern tech appeals to firearms enthusiasts everywhere.
