SK Guns Unveils Limited-Edition Cinco de Mayo Colt 1911 Honoring General Zaragoza

SK Guns, America’s premier series-driven custom firearms manufacturer, proudly introduces its latest masterpiece: a limited-edition Colt 1911 celebrating Cinco de Mayo and Mexican General Ignacio Zaragoza. Only 500 of these stunning, highly-polished Royal Blue .38 Super pistols will be produced. Additionally, collectors can pair this firearm with an optional hand-forged Damascus Steel knife.
Celebrating Cinco de Mayo’s Legacy
Cinco de Mayo honors the 1862 Battle of Puebla, where General Zaragoza’s outnumbered Mexican army triumphed over French forces. This victory symbolizes Mexican resilience, unity, and national pride. Consequently, it remains a cultural cornerstone in Mexico and the U.S.
During France’s Second Intervention, Napoleon III aimed to dominate Mexico. However, General Zaragoza, born in Texas, led 4,000 ill-equipped troops against 6,000 well-armed French soldiers. His strategic brilliance secured an improbable victory.
“Zaragoza’s triumph was a tactical masterpiece,” said Simon Khiabani, SK Guns’ founder. “This firearm celebrates Cinco de Mayo’s enduring spirit of courage and Mexican heritage.” Tragically, Zaragoza died of typhoid months later. Yet, his words, “The national arms have been covered with glory,” inspire pride today.
Exquisite Craftsmanship
This Colt 1911 is a work of art. The left slide depicts Zaragoza battling a French rival on horseback, adorned with 24k gold Lily flowers. Additionally, Calavera de Azucar (Sugar Skulls) grace the slide and frame, complementing the Colt serpent logo.
The right slide mirrors this design, featuring the Mexican flag and “Cinco de Mayo” in 24k gold. Meanwhile, the slide top showcases Zaragoza’s name, portrait, and lifespan (1829-1862) on a gold ribbon. A Mexican Eagle subtly decorates the chamber.
The grips, crafted from Presentation Black Kirinite® with 24k gold screws, feature Colt Rampart inserts. As a result, the firearm exudes elegance and heritage.
Optional Collector’s Knife
For collectors, an optional EDC fixed-blade knife by Synder Knives is available. Crafted from Devilles Damascus steel, it features a matching Black Kirinite grip. Furthermore, the Herman Oak Leather sheath and knife bear the gun’s unique serial number. This masterpiece complements the firearm’s artistry.

This exclusive Colt 1911 retails for $2,900, with shipping starting July 2025. The matching knife, priced at $800, ships in June 2025. Consequently, collectors should act quickly to secure this limited run.
