Guns.com Moves to Rumble and X, Leaves YouTube After 13 Years

Guns.com and YouTube logos.

After more than a decade on YouTube, Guns.com is officially pulling the plug on its content for the platform. With over 2,000 videos, nearly 400,000 subscribers, and a staggering 120 million views, the leading online firearms retailer is shifting its video content to platforms that respect First and Second Amendment freedoms, such as Rumble and X.

Since 2011, Guns.com has produced in-depth firearm reviews, manufacturer tours, podcasts, and breaking industry news, building a global following among gun owners and enthusiasts. However, escalating censorship and increasingly restrictive firearm policies on YouTube have made it difficult for firearms brands to operate sustainably on the platform.

“We take pride in creating content that’s both informative and entertaining for gun owners across the country,” says Scott Gara, Managing Editor at Guns.com. “Our audience is largely based in the U.S., but our reach has been global. Unfortunately, YouTube keeps moving the goalposts with its policies and restrictions, which has become unsustainable for brands like ours. We’ll leave our existing content up as long as they allow it, but we won’t be posting new videos moving forward.”

The decision to leave YouTube came after the platform updated its firearm policies on June 18, 2024, with more ambiguous content guidelines and increased enforcement. Since the update, Guns.com has faced reduced organic reach, multiple strikes, and two suspensions, despite following the rules laid out by YouTube.

This move highlights the growing trend of social media censorship faced by firearms content creators across major platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. YouTube, in particular, has been one of the strictest, leading Guns.com to seek alternatives.

For those looking to continue following Guns.com’s video content, new uploads will be available on the following Second Amendment-friendly platforms:

  • Rumble – rumble.com/user/Gunscom
  • X – x.com/Guns_com
  • Truth Social – truthsocial.com/@gunsdotcom

Guns.com will also maintain a presence on its legacy social media platforms, including:

  • Instagram – instagram.com/gunsdotcom
  • Facebook – facebook.com/gunsdotcom
  • LinkedIn – linkedin.com/company/guns-com

As the digital landscape continues to shift, Guns.com remains committed to delivering top-tier content to the firearm community through platforms that uphold free speech and Second Amendment rights.
