SIG SAUER Launches New ROMEO-X Series Optics for Civilian Everyday Carry

Introducing the new ROMEO-X optics family. Built from the ground up with industry-leading functionality, the ROMEO-X is the result of our experience developing durable red-dot technology that’s trusted by the military and put into a streamlined civilian package.

SIG SAUER Electro-Optics has introduced the all-new ROMEO-X series of red-dot sights, inspired by the mil-spec ROMEO-M17 and designed to deliver military-grade performance, reliability, and durability for civilian everyday carry. The ROMEO-X series offers two variants: the ROMEO-X Compact, designed for micro-compact pistols like the P365, and the ROMEO-X Pro, tailored for full-size pistols like the P320.

Andy York, President of SIG SAUER Electro-Optics, emphasized the optimization of the ROMEO-X family for everyday carry, adhering to the same rigorous technology and testing standards employed for mil-spec optics. The ROMEO-X series boasts a side battery placement feature, contributing to an impressively low deck height of the sight when mounted to the slide. This positioning ensures a full sight picture and co-witness with existing standard-height iron sights, enhancing ease of use.

The ROMEO-X series red-dot sights incorporate distortion-free aspheric glass, paired with a patent-pending Beryllium Copper flexure-arm adjustment system, all encased within a rugged 7075 aircraft-grade aluminum housing with machined anti-reflection grooves on shooter-facing surfaces.

The optics utilize a high-efficiency point source red LED emitter, offering a 2 MOA dot / 32 MOA circle reticle, side independent brightness adjustment buttons, and 15 brightness settings, including night vision settings. The ROMEO-X series also features a side-mounted CR1632 battery compartment with a threaded battery cap, eliminating the need to remove the optic from the pistol for battery changes.

To facilitate quick target acquisition, the ROMEO-X series offers a low deck height, allowing for standard-height iron sight co-witness. The optics provide a minimum continuous runtime of 20,000 hours at medium brightness settings, leveraging MOTAC™ (Motion Activated Illumination), MAGNETAC™ (Magnetic Activation), and D.A.R.C™ (Dark Adaptive Reticles & Coatings) technologies.

SIG SAUER Electro-Optics continues its dedication to providing top-tier aiming solutions for everyday carry, manufactured and tested in Oregon to uphold the brand’s reputation for excellence. The ROMEO-X series red-dot sights bring the reliability and ruggedness of mil-spec optics to civilian use, ensuring that armed civilians have access to the same level of performance enjoyed by military personnel. The new optics are now available to enhance the capabilities of micro-compact and full-size pistols for EDC enthusiasts.
