Crimson Trace® laser sights were recently recognized as America’s Top Brand in the Southwick Associates report—”2016 Annual Hunting & Shooting Participation and Equipment Purchase Report.” The Oregon-based company’s laser sights and lights offer firearms owners many advantages in self- and home-defense situations. Users can get on target quicker, aim better in low light conditions, and the use of laser sights reduces tunnel vision. Red and green laser sights can dramatically improve aiming and accuracy in an awkward shooting position. Plus, there are other well recognized advantages of equipping a firearm with a Crimson Trace laser sight.

So, where can interested firearms owners learn more about—and experience—laser sights?

The good news is that many firearms courses now include laser sights in the class curriculum. Many types of firearm courses are offered by National Rifle Association instructors annually, including self-defense and general firearms courses. Laser sights are incorporated—and available for students to experience—in many of those courses. The NRA trains millions of firearms owners annually and has more than 125,000 instructors on its lists. To find a nearby course, visit www.nrainstructors.org.

Some state game departments, local police departments, and nearly all gun ranges across the nation, now offer various types of firearms training. These include basic firearms introduction programs, concealed-carry permit certification training, and self-defense firearms courses. Some courses are free, while others may require a fee. Before signing up for a firearms instruction course, ask what topics the course covers, if laser sights will be used, and what certificates, permits or recognition cards are awarded after completing the course. There are many types of courses being offered, and each course offers specific benefits and could also incorporate the use of laser sight equipped firearms.

Some of the gun ranges that offer courses also rent firearms with Crimson Trace laser sights installed. Customers can often rent the firearm equipped with a laser sight for an hour or more, purchase necessary ammunition, and experience shooting a firearm and using laser sights.

Another source of laser sight education is the Crimson Trace website (www.crimsontrace.com). Educational videos on the website cover topics ranging from training with laser sight equipped firearms to details on laser sight installation and cleaning.
