TacticalWalls Rifle Length Shelves with RFID Locks

TacticalWalls has announced the release of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) locking models of its 842 and 1242 Rifle Length Shelf (RLS) units. With this release, TacticalWalls customers will now have the choice between magnetic or RFID locking mechanisms on all locking TacticalWalls units (not including the Tactical Lamp, Wall Clock or Issue Box).

The new Rifle Length Shelves are the perfect option to store a long gun or several handguns in a concealed compartment disguised as a fully functional shelf. Each shelf has one RFID sensor in the middle of the unit with two locks on each side to prevent any sagging and help keep the shelf secure. Installation is as easy as hanging any common shelf.

The primary advantages of RFID locks are that they offer greater security and also allow firearms owners to access their guns even faster in an emergency. Opening up the hidden compartment is as easy as swiping the preset RFID card in front of the locking mechanism. Each unit will come standard with two key cards and one programming card, used to match the key to the proper unit(s). Additional RFID cards can be ordered if needed. One card can also be set to open multiple units, granting access to each firearm staged throughout the home. If the battery on the RFID locking mechanism runs out of power, the unit automatically defaults to an unlocked-but-still-closed position.

“Our customers have been asking us to add RFID technology to our Rifle Length Shelves for quite some time now and we’re pleased to now be able to offer them this feature. Our team put a lot of effort into this design to ensure that the craftsmanship is on par with the high standards that TacticalWalls is known for and we’re excited to bring these high-quality storage units to the market,” said Chris Wood, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at TacticalWalls.
Inside of each Rifle Length Shelf is a medium density polyurethane foam insert that is easily customized to accommodate various home defense items. Simply cut the required shapes out of the foam, peel the self-adhesive backing, and attach it to the compartment bottom. The foam securely holds everything in place. Optional L.E.D. lights illuminate your hidden cache.

Both the 842 RLS and 1242 RLS are handcrafted in the United States with real hardwood. The surface-mounted shelf is designed for use with standard 2 x 4 stud framing. Maximum recommended hold weight for this shelf is 25 pounds inside and 25 pounds on top. Each shelf is pre-assembled and supplied with a set of two bookend-style shelf brackets for added support, one foam insert, anchors and fasteners. To match your existing home décor, the Rifle Length Shelves are also available in six different finishes (Early American, Dutch Walnut, Cherry, Black, White and Raw) and two different types of trim (standard and rope).
TacticalWalls is a family owned and operated business, based in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Our products are proudly manufactured in the United States. Every product is handcrafted using U.S.-sourced materials. We make products that are simple to install, easy to use, and offer discreet storage solutions for every room.
